The 90,000 barrel per day refinery located in Commerce City, CO processes large volumes of crude blends from the company’s Canadian oil sands operations; providing a secure, long-term supply for the refinery and a stable supply of refined products to the Colorado market.
The project consisted of two phases. The first was a relocation of the refinery propane storage facilities. The second phase was part of the construction on a $300 million project to modify the company’s Denver refinery. The scope of work included installations and modifications to power, control and instrumentation systems in hazardous locations.
“This is Suncor’s first major project at the refinery and it was a tremendous success. Most importantly the job was done in a safe manner.” Suncor Executive Vice President
