The Network Equipment Center (NEC) is comprised of approximately 106,000 total sq ft on two levels and is located on 9.82 acres of land.  This facility is currently served by a 3000 Amp utility power, with two generators providing N+1 emergency redundancy to critical systems.

This phase of the expansion included the renovation and upgrade of the existing NEC and the construction of a new building housing six 3MW backup generators.  The renovations included 4,600 sq ft of raised floor space and modifications to reconfigure and structurally support existing spaces in order to house the new chilled water and air distribution systems.  The scope of work also included:  new 10MW/34.5kV utility service with associated AC and UPS power distribution, upgrades to the building automation, security systems, upgraded fire protection systems, exterior modifications to support a new generator building, new medium voltage switchgear yard, and new exterior heat rejection equipment.
